While most of the world is focusing on the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX, there is also a very interesting crypto process starting on the other side of the world. Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest, also known as ‘Twiggy’, made his money through mining in his country. He came second on the local Fortune billionaires list last year.

Due to his great fame in Australia (and Asia), you could find many advertisements on Meta (formerly Facebook) in recent years showing a photo of Forrest promoting a certain cryptocurrency. There were a lot of those scam advertisements, especially in 2019 and 2020.

In the United States (and Europe), photo and video material of Elon Musk is mainly used to promote such fraudulent investments.

However, Andrew Forrest himself was informed by his own family of the many advertisements with his image on Meta and filed a complaint as early as 2019 against his picture being used. Meta did not react too quickly and so Forrest took Mark Zuckerberg’s company to court.
That case is now ongoing and according to Meta, the billionaire himself was partly to blame for the many crypto scams on their site.
In fact, Andrew Forrest had his own photo used to promote other investments and companies in Australia, Meta says, so Mark Zuckerberg’s company requested access to the man’s emails to prove their point . According to Meta, Forrest had contacted his own lawyers several times about this and that is why they want to view his mailbox. The judge has not yet made a decision.
