Bitcoin’s $69 Billion Trial Continues In Miami As New York Launches City Coin
Last Updated on 15 November 2021 by CryptoTips.eu
Last week, when Eric Adams got elected as the new mayor of New York, we pointed out that Miami would now have a competitor for the title of crypto city in the US.
As Miami is hosting a $69 billion crypto trail right now, New York decided to launch its very own crypto coin.
Wright versus Kleiman
Yes, the neverending legal squabble over who has the ownership to the first million mined Bitcoins continues in Miami. The civil trial Ira Kleiman vs. Craig Wright will probably not reveal whether or not Wright’s is indeed the one and true Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin. But it does provide for an interesting side show that crypto enthusiasts, whether they want to or not, have to keep following. as the keys to the first million minted Bitcoins hold a lot of sway over the price of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency
According to the The Wall Street Journal, Emin Gun Sirer, founder of Ava Labs, says its possible that Dr. Wright and Dave Kleiman created #Bitcoin: https://t.co/xytISbgkMF pic.twitter.com/1gB423HzLj

We have written extensively on the Kleiman versus Wright case over the past years and are, just as Vitalik Buterin, not at all convinced that Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto. However, as the private keys to the first million Bitcoins are at stake, worth a possible $69 billion at this week’s value, we have to keep following. Nothing remarkable happened so far, and no decision is expected anytime soon.
NewYorkCityCoin (NYCCoin) launcg
Meanwhile further north in the USA, NewYorkCityCoin (NYCCoin) launched, with Mayor-elect Eric Adams giving the coin’s issuers, CityCoins, a public endorsement ahead of the rollout.
#NewYorkCityCoin joins #MiamiCoin in the #CityCoin lineup. We discuss the massive impact it will eventually have on the Big Apple, #Bitcoin and the price of Stacks in today's post:#cryptocurrency #CryptoInvestment @mineCityCoins @ericadamsfornyc https://t.co/K2zaOhrgSV pic.twitter.com/EkEf3pBH5e

Adams had previously declared that he wanted to have a CityCoin for NYC that mirrors Miami’s MiamiCoin. A week later it has already been done. The race for America’s biggest crypto city is heating up.
