Before we start playing Denzel’s pump it up again (yes I did see that on Twitter already) and put ‘laser eyes’ on everyone’s Twitter picture, let’s not lose sight of the fact that it’s ‘only’ $18,000 just yet. Still though, the 9-day in a row winning streak for Bitcoin is good news. And that is not the only good news apparently. A quick overview

FTX attorney finds $5 billion
An attorney representing collapsed crypto platform FTX claims that they have now ‘located’ some $5 billion dollars, meaning customers are probably more likely to receive some funds in return anytime soon, or at least that would be my hope.
Andy Dietderich of law firm Sullivan & Cromwell (who are rumored to be themselves in trouble for having wrongly advised FTX before according to the Financial Times) explained to the press that:
We have located over 5 billion dollars of cash, liquid cryptocurrency and liquid investment securities.
US Bankruptcy Judge John Dorsey in Delaware was pleased with the news but still confirmed that American football star Tom Brady, his former wife Giselle Bündchen and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft were mentioned in court filings against FTX.
Silvergate receives loan
The Californian bank that was met with a bank run of some $8 billion in withdrawals after FTX collapsed meanwhile, has now received a $4.3 billion loan form the Federal Home Loan Bank.
Commenters on Reddit claimed that with this move the ‘US taxpayers just bailed out’ the FTX-friendly bank.
They were not too pleased as to how their tax money was used.
Apple Metaverse
Lastly, it seems Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, is ready to enter the metaverse, just like Mark Zuckerberg of Meta (formerly Facebook) did before him.
Seeing the possibilities of virtual worlds, Apple seems ready to launch a Mixed-Reality Headset in the spring already.
All those metaverse coins might be looking up again if that happens.
