Bitpanda announces that from February 1, 2024, it will cease its services to residents of the Netherlands. They already stopped targeting the Dutch crypto market earlier. The Austrian broker has over 4 million users in Europe and 12 European licenses and registrations. Bitpanda is not registered with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB).
Bitpanda advises its Dutch users to transfer their crypto to Bitvavo before February 1, 2024. Bitvavo is registered with De Nederlandse Bank and now offers a €10 bonus for new users.
Important dates for Bitpanda users
- January 31, 2024: Dutch customers can continue trading with Bitpanda until this date.
- February 1, 2024: Logging in and viewing account information remains possible, as well as withdrawing or transferring assets and funds, but trading will be discontinued for Dutch clients.
- February 26, 2024: This is the last day Dutch customers can withdraw or transfer their assets and funds from Bitpanda.
What exactly happens to the funds after this date is unclear.
Dutch users who are new to Bitvavo are eligible for a welcome bonus of €10. In addition, Bitvavo offers new users the opportunity to trade the first €10,000 without transaction costs.
Switching from Bitpanda to Bitvavo
New customers of Bitvavo can create an account and follow the instructions in the email. Make sure you only send cryptos that are also supported by Bitvavo. There is no tool developed to automatically transfer the crypto, it is a manual process.
It is also possible to sell all your crypto and have it paid out to your bank account. You can then deposit your euros for free at Bitvavo via iDEAL, creditcard, Bancontact and more.
