“Buy Bitcoin” message auctioned for 1 million dollars

The iconic ‘buy bitcoin’ message, written on an average yellow A4 notepad, which a visitor to the US Congress held up while Janet Yellen was being questioned, has been auctioned for $1 million.
At a time when Bitcoin is going through a difficult few weeks, partly due to the consequences of the ‘halving-slump’ and the price drop of various important tech shares in the United States, this is good news.
Federal Reserve
In 2017, Janet Yellen, then chairman of the Federal Reserve, had to explain before Congress to explain the state of US governmental finances. Christian Langalis, back then a 22-year-old intern working at the Cato Institute in Washington DC, sat just behind Yellen and held up a yellow notepad with “Buy Bitcoin” written on it.
At the time, Bitcoin was trading at around $2,000.

The photo of Yellen, a notorious anti-Bitcoiner, with the ‘Buy Bitcoin’ message showing behind her, of course went viral and is published on social media every time Bitcoin reaches a new record to remind everyone of Yellen’s stance.

Langalis naturally kept a close eye on the notepad and also received a few offers to sell the iconic piece.
A few weeks ago, a collector offered him $330,000 for the yellow notepad, but Langalis refused to sell and decided to organize an online auction himself. With success because yesterday a buyer offered him about $1 million for the yellow notepad, an offer he accepted.
With that, another piece of Bitcoin history is headed for a collector’s collection.
