Once again the main crypto news comes from overseas today as Canada seized crypto donations to the so-called Freedom Convoy protesters, Sam Bankman-Fried (the CEO of FTX and a known crypto Billionaire) thinks ‘crypto autumn’ could be upon us.

It comes as Bitcoin remains steady around the $43k mark and has barely moved in the past week. Looking at CoinMarketCap this morning at the time of writing, Bitcoin stayed between 1% in the past seven days. What do you mean volatility?

Freedom Convoy

After Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a deal with GoFundMe not to allow donations to the protesting truckers in Ottawa known as the ‘Freedom Convoy’ anymore, Tesla CEO Elon Musk spoke of double standards.

As it now also seems that crypto donations are not allowed, we already wonder what Musk will say next. Dogecoin donations via Tesla merch perhaps?

Canadian authorities blocked donations from 29 Bitcoin addresses, one Ethereum address, one Cardano address, one Ethereum Classic address, one Litecoin address and one Monero address.

Crypto Autumn

Sam Bankman-Fried, the savant CEO of FTX who was one of the original crypto billionaires, told US media that he doesn’t believe crypto winter (a prolonged bearish market for Bitcoin and other digital currencies) is here, but crypto autumn is perhaps a possibility.

He stated:

I don’t think it’s really a winter. We’re still seeing a lot of activity in this space, and a lot of excitement, before adding that an “autumn” may be a better way to think about it. Certainly there has been a slowdown.
