The Coinbase platform recently revealed its user count. The American platform is enjoying significant growth and now has more than 35 million users in around 100 countries.
The largest exchange platform
Coinbase now has more than 35 million users in more than 100 countries, the platform said in a new report. This would make it the most popular cryptocurrency exchange in the world.
The San Francisco-based company said in its report that it is the largest regulated platform in the world and that the company continues to expand.
Thus, the exchange has attracted more than 5 million new users compared to last year.
Develop more services for institutions
According to the study, cryptocurrencies continue to attract players in traditional finance. The report highlights that many institutional investors are taking direct positions on Coinbase for the first time.
Thus, the American company noted a notable increase in the growth of the activity of institutional investors in the first half of 2020. The list of users of the platform has grown with clients such as investment funds or large family offices.
To further capitalize on its growth, Coinbase has said it will improve a number of its services.
For institutions, for example, the platform said it wanted to offer clients the possibility of trading on several liquidity pools following the acquisition of the crypto-broker Tagomi. Coinbase added:
The addition of Tagomi will complete our product line for institutional clients. It will allow us to offer top-notch custody, professional trading features and brokerage services on a single platform.
As reported earlier, Coinbase is also reportedly planning to complete an initial public offering (IPO). The company has already raised more than $500 million to support its development. In 2018, the platform was valued at over $8 billion.
