Sideways trading this weekend mostly as Bitcoin remained near the $45k level and Ether changed hands for both looked to be waiting for direction from global stock markets. Meanwhile, the cryptosphere counts down to the Miami Bitcoin Conference of 2022.

With the NFT week held in the past few days, and it being followed by the Miami Bitcoin Conference as from Wednesday, the party town of Florida is truly becoming Bitcoin central for the world. Although New York Mayor Eric Adams would like the Big Apple to hold that title, it will be hard to try and pry away the title of Bitcoin capital of the world of Miami in the days to come.

Early days of crypto

Already this past weekend, Miami celebrated all that is NFTs and invited Mark Cuban up on stage to comment.

The star of Shark Tank has become a known crypto enthusiast. Speaking about the surge in popularity of NFTs, Mark said:

Miami crowd is completely different, I’ve never heard hooting and hollering and screaming you know it was like a party talking about NFTs’ so it’s a completely different environment and the mayor deserves a lot of credit.

With that, he refers to Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who had vowed years ago to make his city the capital of Bitcoin. So far, it looks like he’s succeeding.

It reminds me a whole lot of the early days of the internet where people dismissed the website. So that’s where we’re at, we’re still in the early days of crypto and it’s just going to get bigger

Cuban added.

As from Wednesday 6 April, Miami’s Bitcoin conference officially kicks off and the list of invitees looks impressive indeed. Speakers have promised major surprises from the likes of Polkadot and MicroStrategy. We’ll keep you updated.
