For those who think that the crypto companies are in bad shape because of the way digital coins have behaved in 2022, we can reassure you, they still have some money in their pockets apparently.
It turns out that it took Crypto.com seven months to realize that they had transferred ten million into the account of an Australian housewife, while their initial intention was to deposit her 100 Australian dollars.
1. Crypto .com is suing a woman in Australia after it accidentally sent her AS$10.5 million instead of the AS$100 refund she requested.

Typo with major consequences. After all, the woman used the money to buy a mansion and transferred the estate to her sister. On top of it all, the sister lives in another country. Try and get that back.
Malaysia
Crypto.com had to transfer an Australian woman some $100 to her bank account for a Bitcoin investment she had made earlier. However, due to a typing error by the clerk who carried out the transaction, the account number was entered in the ‘amount’ box. He also wrote the account number in the ‘account’ box. Some 10.4 million was thus transferred. At the close of the fiscal year, about seven months later, Crypto.com noticed the error and contacted the customer.
However, Mrs. Thevamanogari Manivel had already funneled the money. She used part of the funds to buy a villa in Melbourne before the Australian Supreme Court froze her bank account at Crypto.com’s request.
🚨The woman who spent $10.4M that was mistakenly transferred to her by Crypto. com has been ordered to pay it all back plus 10% interest to cover legal costs.

Problem for Crypto.com is that the property had already been transferred in the name of Manivel’s sister, Ms. Thilagavathy Gangadory, who lives in Malaysia. It’s going to be a lot of work to get that back.
The quote that made Crypto.com famous is the immortal Matt Damon ad: fortune favors the brave. It turns out that fortune also favors those who manage to circumvent the law by having family in another country.
