Dogecoin Creator Annoyed By Elon Musk Constantly Fangirling Memecoin
Last Updated on 12 September 2022 by CryptoTips.eu
Dogecoin, the original memecoin (Shiba Inu is, with all due respect, a mere copy trying to ride the Dogecoin popularity) was created by two people (Jackson Palmer and Billy Markus), who both have the strangest relationship with Elon Musk. Jackson Palmer dislikes Musk while Billy Markus is considered a personal friend to the Tesla CEO, often defending him in business deals.
Markus’ tweets often get mentions from Musk who boasts more than 90 million followers on Twitter. In the past, whenever Musk would do this, Dogecoin would shoot up a few percentage points, after which it would drop down again. 2021 was Dogecoin’s best year, which resulted in an all time high of some 75 cents. By now, Dogecoin is back to 6 cents.
Very cynical view of @elonmusk by Jackson Palmer here. A case of the sour grapes perhaps? 🍇😝

Palmer, who’s been negative about crypto in the past and has become more of a Buttcoin fan, claimed during a press tour in the past few days that he disliked the hype that both Elon Musk and WallStreetBets’ copycat Reddit group SatoshiBets tried to create around Dogecoin last year, when the meme currency was going, as Musk put in on his May 2021 appearance on SNL “to the moon”.
Bad smell
It all kind of annoyed me because it was this thing that had my name tied to it. I don’t think people realize it, but I wish that when something happened with Dogecoin and Elon Musk and my Dogecoin cofounder Billy Markus that I didn’t get dragged back into it, Palmer said.
Even when I had completely deleted all social media it continued to follow me around like a bad smell,
In fact, Palmer believes that Musk’s apparent interest in Dogecoin is nothing but a tactic to try and “latch onto communities” in an effort to “absorb them into his cult of personality.”
Some conspiracy theories on the internet have also claimed that Musk, some two months before the important US Midterm elections, is leaning Republican as of late because he already sold Teslas to every Democrat.
