Although he may no longer be the most popular politician, former US President Donald Trump has once again shown that he is a good salesman. The NFT collection of 45,000 images of Trump as a superhero sold out in 12 hours on the largest NFT platform in the world, Opensea. The price of most NFTs has meanwhile increased due to the speed of sale.
Christmas present
American media was rather harsh towards their former president when he announced a few days ago, via his own network Truth Social, that he would be selling thousands of NFTs with images of himself for $99 each, payable in crypto or with a credit card. Trump claimed it would make a good Christmas present for his fans.

He said the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were “very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting”.
Rolling Stone called it cringe, The Washington Post, the newspaper owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, claimed it certainly was not art.
A day later, all 45,000 NFTs offered via Opensea’s website have sold out and the prices of most images have increased in value, some even doubled.

One of these rare trading cards, of the 45th president standing in front of the Statue of Liberty holding a torch, is currently listed at 20 ETH, or about $24,000. That is not a bad profit.
