Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower who became world famous when Oliver Stone made a movie about his ordeals, exchanged insults with Craig Wright, the Australian businessman claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto, over the true identity of the Bitcoin inventor.

Snowden shut the conversation down by reminding Wright he lost a lawsuit over the Bitcoin inventor’s identity just two weeks ago.

Traitorous scum

It all started with the simple and happy celebration of the 14th anniversary of the White Paper of Bitcoin by Edward Snowden, on his Twitter account.

This white paper of the ancestor of all cryptocurrencies was, in fact, published for the first time on October 31, 2008, by the still anonymous and unknown Satoshi Nakamoto.

Wright felt it necessary to reply to Snowden, stating:

I was never anonymous you traitorous scum.

Snowden reacted and made it clear in his reply to Wright that he didn’t for a second believe that the Australian businessman was in fact Satoshi. He referred to a very recent lawsuit won by Magnus Granath, the Bitcoin advocate who tweets under the moniker Hodlonaut.

Remember two weeks ago when the court affirmed that @hodlonaut calling you a “pathetic scammer,” “cringe,” “clearly mentally ill,” and (repeatedly) a “fraud” was A-OK? And ordered you to pay like $348,257?

Snowden then ends the discussion by simply saying:

This guy can’t even cheat properly. It’s just embarrassing.
