Back in January and February of last year we already discussed Maren Altman on this site. She is a young New Yorker with a knack for social media, where she boasts several million followers on all platforms combined.

She is also a famed astrologer and on top of predicting the divorce of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian before it took place (at least according to the Washington Post), she has been looking at price patterns of Dogecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin.

Given her apparent good looks and people’s beliefs in astrology, this got her a very healthy following and influence on social media over the years.

However, her star is not shining so brightly now that recently published court documents show that she received $30,000 in marketing payments from the crypto lender Celsius Network in the months just before the company declared bankruptcy.

On Twitter, some of her followers now accuse her of misleading them earlier this year.

Witch hunt

Altman has since admitted that Celsius paid her but says the Twitter accusations are nothing but “a witch hunt. My error was trusting Celsius.”

When asked whether she knew about Celsius’s legal problems, Maren claimed that she didn’t have “a clue, no visibility on anything other than my marketing campaign.”

Miss Altman only got paid for 2 months though, as at the end of the second month, Celsius declared bankruptcy.
