Bitcoin took a breather from increasing price levels today as traders took profits. At the time of writing, the world’s largest cryptocurrency was down some 4% and changed hands for $44k. One token that did continue to climb was the fitness inspired Stepn, or Green Metaverse Token (GMT).

Over on streaming platforms, Netflix is reporting good views for their newest crypto documentary: Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King, about the disappearance of Gerald Cotten, who used to run Canada’s largest crypto platform.

Fitness and health

It is clear that as the Covid pandemic winds down, fitness and health will become a booming business. People have by now understood that healthy eating habits and a regular sports regime will protect them against infectious disease. The younger generations are therefore bound to hit the gym more regularly and vegetarianism is bound to grow. With all this, it’s no surprise that Stepn’s move-to-earn app’s GMT token has soared 300% over the past week.

Stepn’s GMT (Green Metaverse Token) is based on the idea of earning coins by doing sports basically. The coins has gone parabolic in the last few days after speculation arose over a major sports brand doing a partnership with the coin.

It comes after Stepn’s Twitter account commented on the recent Axie Infinity hack, stating:

It is terrible what happened to @Ronin_Network. For STEPN’s Solana and the BNBChain integration in April, we will not implement any bridge between these two ecosystems.

The image accompanying the tweet carried the logos of both Adidas and Nike, which made many wonder whether any of these global sports brands would soon be announcing a partnership with GMT (Green Metaverse Token).

Netflix Crypto King

Although as ‘crypto king’, he clearly can’t match the numbers of ‘Tiger King’, the highly popular series about Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic, the newest Netflix documentary about crypto, entitled ‘Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King’, has gotten it’s fair share of media attention already.

YouTube video

The New York Times wasn’t raving, Decider was, but overall Netflix’s own viewing numbers show that there is clearly demand and interest from it’s subscribers for stories about crypto scams and the origins of blockchain.

Bring on Vitalik Buterin for a biography we suggest.
