The world of hiphop and the crypto scene continue their foreplay as another major rapper urges his fans to get into cryptocurrency. Meek Mill, who has 10.5 million followers on Twitter said earlier this week he wants everyone close to him to learn about cryptocurrency and stocks as soon as possible.

This isn’t the first time Mills has spoken about crypto on Twitter. In fact, around Christmas, just as fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion started to giveaway free Bitcoin, he asked known crypto investor Mike Novogratz for advice.

The love affair between hiphop and crypto is nothing new. As rappers and popstars have a mostly young audience and crypto is more popular with millennials, the marriage between popular music and popular crypto was always bound to happen.

Now that Bitcoin breaking records on an almost daily basis, the number of music stars urging their fans to get into crypto is growing exponentially as well. Fans include Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Pump.

RnB singer Akon has long been very interested in cryptocurrency, even launching his own cryptocurrency known as Akoin of which he is the co-founder and CEO. The Smack That singer who rose to worldwide fame because of his cooperation with Eminem back in 2009, has said he is embarking on a project to build a “futuristic cryptocurrency themed city” known as Akon City back in his home country Senegal.

In the past year, rappers Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion (who had a massive 2020 hit with WAP) and Lil Pump all joined in and outed themselves as Bitcoin fans.

By 2021, the love affair between hiphop and crypto has grown to new heights as “Going Bad” singer Meek Mill told his fans that he needed:

Everybody that rock with me to learn about stocks and crypto currency!!!!!! ASAP!!!!!!’

The call has been heard as by now twitter comments mention the instruction both by hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones (PTJ) and Meek Mill to buy Bitcoin is echoed on social media.

We cannot wait for the first rap song about  Bitcoin in 2021 by… Drake perhaps?
