A real mega Twitter hack, now referred to as the Bitcoin hack in the American press, took place in recent hours. The Twitter accounts of an incredibly large number of well-known American individuals and companies were hacked and payments in Bitcoin were requested. In exchange, the hacked twitter accounts promised to refund the double amount, which of course never happened. An old scam method we talked about in our top 6 scam methods.
Just to be sure, Bitcoin or the Bitcoin network is not hacked.

The term #Twitterhacked is now trending worldwide, and many are amazed at how easy it seemed to take over all the major accounts. The event led Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to temporarily shut down all verified accounts of famous individuals and companies worldwide. Twitter has no idea yet how criminals got access to the accounts. Rumors have it that employee accounts have been hacked and that way access has been obtained.
Social media is in shock, many wonder how much has been captured.
Elon Musk and Joe Biden
The twitter accounts that were hacked were not the least. There was Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The accounts of well-known politicians such as former President Barack Obama and his vice president, current presidential candidate for Democrats Joe Biden, also fell victim to the scam.

The hackers asked followers to transfer $ 1,000 to a crypto address within the next half hour. The amount had to be paid in BTC. After this, the scammer promised to transfer the double amount.
It is unclear how many people have been scammed. At this moment, 12.85 BTC has been transferred to the address: bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh. With a Bitcoin value of: $ 117,180.55.

According to Twitter, hackers have broken into employee accounts who have access to the “internal system” of the social media platform that has access to all prominent, verified accounts. Why they did not gain access to Donald Trump’s account is still unknown.
