Musk says his Shiba Inu dog Floki is CEO of Twitter and offers 1 million Dogecoin to combat ‘fake news’

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and now Twitter, is still a big fan of Dogecoin, as he revealed in his interview with the BBC last week. When asked who would take over Twitter (Musk had already stated that he would like a new CEO for Twitter by 2024) he replied that his Shiba Inu dog would take over, an obvious reference to Dogecoin.

Furthermore, a story was raked up in recent days about a mine in South Africa in which he would be a shareholder and we learned this weekend that the richest man in the world wants to set up a new company specializing in AI.

Floki

In a lengthy interview with BBC journalist James Clayton last week, Elon Musk reaffirmed the meme that has been circulating the internet for some time, namely that his Shiba Inu dog named Floki is currently CEO of Twitter.

I’m not the CEO of Twitter. My dog is the CEO of Twitter. He’s a great dog, very alert, and it’s hard to get anything by him.

Said Musk, just as he recently replaced the twitter logo with the image of Dogecoin.

The lengthy interview with the BBC didn’t really go down well, and especially when Musk asked the interviewer about an example of more “hate speech” on the site since he took over, Clayton couldn’t name a single one.

Musk referenced the interview again this weekend and said:

The BBC interview last week was exceptional in illustrating why you cannot rely on the media for truth.

He was clearly unhappy with that result and the story written about him on the BBC website.

Nepo-baby

The media also wrote again last week that Musk’s parents had a very profitable mine in South Africa and that he is therefore a nepo baby (a child of rich, well-known parents). Musk has dismissed the tale as just more fantasy and offered to pay a million Dogecoins to anyone who can prove it to be true.

In the last few days it also became clear that Musk wants to start a new company, one that will focus on AI. In a new sector that is currently dominated by Microsoft (with OpenAI) and Google (with Bard), Musk therefore apparently wants a share of the new market. The new company will be called “X.AI” and Musk wants to turn it into some kind of super app.
