Bitcoin still refused to go decisively in any direction and at the time of writing is trading slightly higher round the $56k level. With a record number of options contract expiring on Friday, it could be that traders are waiting to see where this will take them.

Meanwhile Theta and its fuel token Theta Fuel, which we last discussed around 12 March, are still breaking records. So much so that Theta, which has climbed 114% in the past week, has now entered the CoinMarketCap top 10.

It has overtaken coins like Bitcoin Cash, Stellar and Dogecoin on the way.

Filecoin, which is seeing a surge in interest from (mostly Chinese) miners, is also up 10% at the time of writing. In doing so, it entered the top 20 of CoinMarketCap.

Gamer to millionaire

Meanwhile, a delightful story in which the Theta coin plays a major role is making headlines on social media platforms. A 23-year-old gamer from Australia got dumped by his girlfriend last year because she said he was wasting his “money on stupid fake internet currencies.”

The coin in which the young man had invested some $17k was of course Theta. In a Reddit post the user known as Grave now explains that it’s made him a millionaire before sending an expletive message to his ex.

Almost a year later, today we peaked at $11.80 AUD im sitting on $1.180 mill and I wish I bought MORE!

He wrote earlier this month.

Although many on Reddit were doubtful of the truth of his tale, a similar number of Redditors believed the young gamer and congratulated him.
