About a month ago, we reported how the MSM had started lambasting the crypto.com ad in which Hollywood star Matt Damon ends with the widely mocked tagline ‘fortune favors the brave’. Given the known any publicity is good publicity, crypto.com (and Matt Damon) took the criticism in their stride and have since moved on.

Funnily enough, eternal Matt Damon nemesis South Park has now also mocked Crypto and Bitcoin for their commercial in it’s season premiere this week. Returning for it’s 25th season already, south Park main character Cartman could be heard throughout the show mocking Damon’s crypto.com ad.

My dad listened to Damon

“What does Matt Damon say in the Bitcoin commercial? Fortune favors the brave!” Cartman says. His classmate Clyde then replies, “My dad said he listened to Matt Damon and lost all his money.”

The joke runs through the entire episode, until an unknown character states at the end: “Alright dude, can we lay off the Matt Damon jokes please, they’re just getting old.”

This is of course not the first time South Park has chosen to make fun of Matt Damon. Already in their 2004 film Team America: World Police, the Hollywood celebrity was being made fun of, with his character simply stating his own name throughout the film.
