As a seasoned writer about crypto by now, I of course check the CoinMarketCap top 100 on almost a daily basis or the Lunarcrush rankings as to what is being discussed online.

On both those platforms, Theta and its fuel token Theta Fuel, which plays a role comparable to the gas fees being paid on the Ethereum blockchain, are both breaking records as of late. Their charts look like a 90 degree angle of a line that has gone horizontal and now said to itself: time to go vertical.

When Theta upgraded to Theta 2.0, the developers explained the mainnet 2.0 platform upgrade, saying that the network had improved massively.

Theta’s statement read:

Community-run Guardian Nodes will now take a direct role in block production, finalizing blocks at regular 100 block intervals, and making up the second layer of defense after the Validator Nodes that produce each block. With Guardian Nodes joining the network and staking, no single group or entity will control the majority of THETA staked, marking a significant milestone toward Theta’s decentralization.

Theta 3.0

On 2 April of 2021, Theta will be upgraded to Theta 3.0 and token holders can as of that moment stake Theta Fuel in order to gain passive income in return for their help to secure the network.

Both Theta and Theta Fuel have since a few weeks shown an incredible rise while the cryptosphere is discussing them on a daily basis on social media. Theta Fuel is up 50% in the past day and 166% in the past week.
