Warren Buffett’s right hand man wants to ban crypto in the USA

Warren Buffett is without a doubt one of the best investors of the first twenty years of this century. However, ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, his company Berkshire Hathaway, which specializes in investments and insurances, has performed slightly less well.
As his right-hand man Charlie Munger is now calling onto US politicians to ban crypto in the US in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, crypto Twitter has one unanimous answer: an “eye roll emoji” followed by “Ok boomer.”
Rat poison
It has long been known that Charlie Munger is not a fan of Bitcoin. In 2018, he said that the largest digital currency was essentially just “rat poison”. As Bitcoin rose from $4,000 to $69,000 in the following years, no one paid any attention to what Charlie said anymore about crypto.
Now that digital currencies see a revival in January 2023, the moment to criticize Bitcoin once again seems very badly chosen.

Munger began by thanking the Chinese government for setting a great example in being the first major country to ban crypto.
As the US and China are currently once again embroiled in some political sparring because of a white spy balloon, probably not the best strategy either. Charlie wrote:
What should the US do after a ban of cryptocurrencies is in place? Well, one more action might make sense: Thank the Chinese communist leader for his splendid example of uncommon sense.
Yeah but he’s 400 years old https://t.co/Jm07wKklR8

Crypto twitter, the collection of well-known fans of Bitcoin on social media, answered in their foreseeable manner. Scott Melker, who tweets under the moniker Wolf of All Streets, replied with a link to the article and the words, “yes, but he’s 400 years old.”
To be fair, Charlie is only 99 years old, but I get Scott’s point.
