Earlier this year, a series with Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway raised eyebrows over in the US because people we reminded how they lost money on the stock market. It was called We Crashed and told of the rise and fall of one of the world’s most valuable startups we’ve seen in the past decade.

Although it didn’t break much ground in Europe, WeWork was a major thing in the US. WeWork grew from a single co-working space into a global brand worth $47 billion in under a decade. Then, in less than a year, its valuation plummeted. People who invested in the company when it was trading at it’s high lost fortunes. Hence the name of the series WeCrashed.

The New York Times famously described the company’s collapse as “an implosion unlike any other in the history of start-ups.”

At the heart of it all was Adam Neumann, portrayed by Jared Leto in the Apple series, who critics claim had a so-called Jesus complex.

Last year already, Hulu made a documentary about it which was also very well received.

Now Neumann, who’s still able to raise capital from venture capitalists and other backers, got himself another $70 million to make a new company. This time round, he became a founder and an investor in a climate startup, Flowcarbon.

Berlin, Montana and New York

That company aims to put ‘carbon credits’, which companies can purchase, on the blockchain with ‘goddess nature tokens’ or GNT. That crypto coin GNT should then, according to the hopes of the founders, surge in value just like Bitcoin or Ethereum have.

Flowcarbon already has 35 employees and offices in Berlin, Montana and New York.

Soon, GNT will be listed on the Celo blockchain and plans to expand from there. Knowing Neumann, he’ll certainly get the press he needs to do it.

Just last week, he made headlines with his new company all over the US. Now, they’re doing a press tour in Europe.

Whether or not the company or the coin will become a success we don’t know, but that you’ll hear about it because of Neumann, we can pretty much guarantee.
