The history of Bitcoin SV’s price
Bitcoin SV is a hard fork of Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin.
As explained earlier on the Bitcoin Cash price history page, some managers were not satisfied with the block size of the original Bitcoin.
One side felt that the original explanation of Satoshi Nakamoto shouldn’t be changed, and two sides were formed. Therefore, in August 2017, the decision was made to split, and a hard fork was used to create a new currency. In addition to the original Bitcoin, called Bitcoin Cash.
One of the team members of Bitcoin Cash was Craig Wright. Craig was not too happy with the development of Bitcoin Cash and insisted on creating a new coin so he could continue with Satoshi’s Vision. He wanted a new coin called Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision, also known as Bitcoin SV.
That’s why Bitcoin Cash was split into Bitcoin Cash ABC and Bitcoin Cash Satoshi Vision. Most people leave out the “Cash-” part of that last name and just call it Bitcoin SV.
In November 2018, after Bitcoin Cash’s hard fork, the first notation of Bitcoin SV was around € 114, but it soon decreased to between € 60 and € 70.
Craig Wright continued to provoke reactions via social media and the crypto community was done with it. Changpeng Zhao was also done with it and decided to delete Bitcoin SV from Binance after a warning. More exchanges followed and it was thought that this was the end of BSV.
The opposite turned out to be true when the Bitcoin SV price rose to € 245 in mid-2019. By the end of 2019, the price dropped again to around €88 and there was little attention for this currency.
At the beginning of 2020, especially with all the stories about Craig Wright and the so-called Tulip Trust, the Bitcoin SV value rose above € 340. Some investors thought that Wright would really get the private keys in January. Wright himself has admitted that the pumps are not natural but are done by whales.
What the future brings is unpredictable, but Bitcoin SV started 2020 well. A lot depends on the credibility of Craig Wright. He still haven’t proved himself that he is the real Satoshi.

How is the Bitcoin SV price established?
As with any stock or asset traded, the Bitcoin SV price is created by balancing the price that the sellers want to have and the price that the buyers want to offer. If there are a lot of buyers for a small number of sellers, the price goes up. Conversely, it is exactly the same and so the price goes down with more sellers than buyers.
The difference compared to a classic currency like the dollar or the euro, for example, is that crypto trading is still quite new and therefore does not really have its own press service. So, for Bitcoin SV, it usually depends on crypto making a positive entry in the world news to make sure the price goes up steadily.
In recent years, crypto has seen a growing interest in the markets and generally has higher annual lows. But of course, this is no guarantee for the future.
The Bitcoin SV price shown on this page is an average of all cryptocurrency exchanges offered by BSV. So, there may be a price difference between the different exchanges.
Bitcoin SV price prediction
Anyone who has read a financial newspaper like the Financial Times or the Wall Street Journal, will have noticed that cryptocurrency has risen from a kind of oddity to an acceptable investment.
Whereas, just a few years ago, it was dismissed as purely speculative, now even institutions like the European Central Bank (ECB) are thinking about integrating crypto into their daily trading. They also want to put more pressure on companies that trade with crypto in Europe.
This is good news for crypto and it also means that the classic traders are accepting it more and more. The more new money enters the market, the more positive this is for the overall market.
Please note that, as with everything else, this is no guarantee for the future.
What do you need to take into account with the Bitcoin SV price?
Bitcoin SV, like any other crypto, is an investment with high price volatility. This means that the Bitcoin SV price can easily become more than five percent higher or lower in 1 day. The crypto market is still very small compared to traditional currencies, and if a big player (what is called a whale) makes a big move, the price can react heavily to it.
If you prefer a stable investment and something called a defensive stock, then this may not be for you. If you like adventure and want to learn new things, then cryptocurrency is for you. Our advice is to always research a project first and not just invest in something. Know what you are investing in and like we always say: “never put more money in than you are willing to lose”.
