Coinmerce review (2024)
Coinmerce.io is a multi-currency crypto platform where anyone can buy and sell easily. The company from The Netherlands currently offers more than 140 different cryptocurrencies which can be bought with easy payment methods. They want to make this growing market of cryptocurrencies available to everyone with a platform where trading cryptocurrencies is as easy as a payment at the bank or buying shoes in a webshop.
Coinmerce’s slogan is: ‘Cryptocurrency for everyone, everywhere’ and this is what they are trying to achieve with an all-in-one smartphone app. In this Coinmerce review we research this platform, examine its safety and give a final score. On this page you also have the opportunity to leave your own experience through our rating system.

Coinmerce alternative
The fees at Coinmerce are between 0.45% and 2.5% per transaction, based on the volume, liquidity and the size of the project. Especially when you buy small amounts of crypto, the fees can go up really high. A cheaper Coinmerce alternative is the Bitvavo Exchange. At this exchange you only pay a maximum of 0.25% fee, regardless how small or big your order is. In fact, you will get a discount on bigger orders. As a welcome bonus you can trade the first € 1.000 for free.

Offer of more than 140 different coins
Coinmerce offers an all-in-one solution app for managing, for buying Bitcoin and trading a lot of other different coins. Where you normally need a wallet to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, you don’t need one for this platform. They have made the process so easy that you hardly need any knowledge of crypto or technique to buy and sell it. It is so easy for beginning users.
Always enable 2-step authentication on exchanges where you are going to trade with money. You can do this by clicking on the tab Security under Account. Here you can Enable 2FA. This makes your account extra secure and you will receive an extra code on your smartphone with every login. By using the app, you don’t have to enter this code every time when you open the app. However, make sure your smartphone is protected with a pin code, your fingerprint or Face ID. The app works smoothly and with just 3 clicks you can buy or sell a coin of your choice.
Benefits of Coinmerce and unique features
Coinmerce offers functionalities we haven’t seen before with other brokers, because they implemented a mobile app at an early stage. The goal is to make buying and selling cryptocurrency as easy as possible, but if we are honest, we see this with almost all cryptocurrency brokers. Also at this company you don’t need any technical knowledge to trade in crypto and they offer sufficient 24/7 support.
Large offer of 140+ different coins
At Coinmerce you can buy and sell more than 140 different cryptocurrencies. This places this broker on the second place based on the offer. Only Bitladon currently has a bigger offer of more than 200 different currencies. The fees at Bitladon are almost the same, they also have an Android and iOS app.
The most popular coins from CoinMarketCap.com are available, but smaller, less known projects are also available in the assortment. View the complete overview of all coins that are available here: https://coinmerce.io/en/portal/
New coins added regularly
Coinmerce’s assortment is growing very fast, in 2018 they only had about 75 coins in their assortment, they now offer more than 140 different coins. With their Twitter account you can keep an eye on the latest news and new listings.
Coinmerce listens carefully to the community and tries to list as many coins as possible that the community would like to see on the platform. Often when a new project is added on Binance, this coin will also be available on the app shortly afterwards.
Trade everywhere with the app
Because there is a smartphone app available in the App Store and in the Play Store you can trade anytime and anywhere in cryptocurrency. This way you don’t have to go to the broker’s website and login again with your 2-factor authentication. By using the mobile app, you can always quickly access your account and react to the market. In the Wallet you have a simple overview of all your coins and their value.
24/7 support via all available channels
Coinmerce gives support 24/7 via all available channels. Unlike other brokers that are only available during office hours and sometimes weekends. You can contact customer support via email, WhatsApp, Live Chat, Facebook and Twitter. They are knowledgeable enough to answer all your questions.
Update October 2018: Stop-loss added
Coinmerce does not hesitate to update the platform on a regular basis. Recently a number of new coins have been added, but also the functionality to open Stop-Loss and Limit Orders. In this way the company is starting to look more and more like a real cryptocurrency exchange. The new functions can be found in the Stop Limits menu, where you can open a separate order for each coin. It is possible to place the Limit Order forever or for 2, 4 or 24 hours. If the price is triggered you will receive a notification by email.
Update February 2020: New design update
Coinmerce restyled the complete website in February 2020. Not only does the platform look better, but it has become even easier than before. For example, the customer journey has been optimized and more data is shown to be used when trading. The charts, on the other hand, have been simplified again, making them easier to read.
How to buy crypto at Coinmerce?
Buying is easy via the app or via the web application. You choose which cryptocurrency you want to buy, enter how much you want and then click the Buy button. When choosing what amount crypto you want to have, you can choose to fill in the amount in euros or the number of coins.
If you choose the amount in euros, the amount of coins you will receive will be calculated automatically. When you choose the number of coins you want, it will automatically calculate how many euros it will cost you. After that you can easily complete your order with one of the offered payment methods. For all available payment methods see further in our Coinmerce review.

Selling crypto
If you want to sell cryptocurrencies, you choose which cryptocurrency you want to sell and how much of it you want to sell. Again, you can choose between the amount of coins and the amount of euros. When you click on Sell, a window will appear asking if you are sure you want to sell the coins. At Coinmerce you can sell coins that you have purchased through the app, but you can also deposit cryptocurrency into your account and sell them.
The value of the sold tokens will be transferred directly to your verified bank account. It may take a few days before you receive the amount in your bank account.
Payment options
Payments for the purchase of cryptocurrency are easy using the known payment methods. Coinmerce offers: iDEAL (€ 0,30), SEPA Bank Transfer (free), GiroPay (€ 0,30 + 2.50%), SOFORT (€ 0,35 + € 2.50%), Bancontact (€ 0,40 + 1.75%), EPS (€ 0,30 + 1,75%), MyBank (€ 0,30 + 1.75%), Zimpler (€ 1,50) and credit card (3.50%).
Just like Litebit, this company uses Coinmerce Credits (CM). 1 CM equals 1 euro, which you receive when you sell cryptocurrency. You can deposit it directly into your bank account or reinvest it in a cryptocurrency.
If you want to convert your crypto to euros again, you can easily do a payout at Coinmerce. After payment, the amount will be in your account after about 1 to 3 working days.
Verifications and limits
Currently there are three verification levels at Coinmerce. At the first verification (Level 1) you have to verify your bank account. You do this by depositing a minimum of 0,01 eurocent. If you have done this, you can trade for a maximum of € 500 euro a week. With this verification it will be checked if your name matches your bank account.
If you want to trade more than € 500 a week, the second verification (Level 2) is mandatory. You have to take a picture of your ID. Once you have completed this verification, you can trade € 20.000 a day or € 60.000 a week.
If this is not enough for you and you need higher limits then there is Level 3. For this you need to contact the Coinmerce support and they will set a limit based on your wishes and requirements. So Level 3 is different for everyone.
Without verification you cannot trade at Coinmerce. They will at least ask you to verify your bank account. This is not only for security reasons, but also to be able to pay you again if you want to sell your crypto.
In addition, this company has to comply with the Dutch (and European) laws and regulations, which state that every customer must be identified.

Coinmerce fees, prices and costs
Registering an account is always free. Coinmerce applies a variable percentage of service fees. The price depends on several factors such as:
- The size of the transaction
- Trade volume
- Transaction costs
In general, the service costs are between 0.45% and 2.5% at Coinmerce. The transaction costs can be very competitive, but also expensive. Especially when you buy smaller amounts, you have to pay a lot more fees. They also charge a fee for the payment methods: iDEAL (€ 0,30), SEPA Bank Transfer (free), GiroPay (€ 0,30 + 2.50%), SOFORT (€ 0,35 + € 2.50%), Bancontact (€ 0,40 + 1.75%), EPS (€ 0,30 + 1,75%), MyBank (€ 0,30 + 1.75%), Zimpler (€ 1,50) and credit card (3.50%).
A payout by bank transfer is free.
Is Coinmerce safe and company information
Coinmerce.io is a Dutch based company that is part of Coinmerce B.V. This private limited company was founded on 09-11-2017 and is registered in Amstelveen. The contact address is Startbaan 8 in Amstelveen.
In order to do as thorough research as possible, we have requested paid Chamber of Commerce extracts from this company to see who is behind it. Of course we do not show any personal information, such as telephone numbers and first names. These details are available to everyone at the Chamber of Commerce and are public information (after payment). Coinmerce B.V. has three holding companies as independent authorized directors:
- Passiion B.V. (65633458)
- LSVO Holding B.V. (71353879), where L. R. Q. S. van Oyen is the independent director
- NSVO Holding B.V. (71353887), where N. G. Q. S. van Oyen is the independent director
We also did a transaction with the services of this company and were able to establish that Coinmerce is safe.
Although this broker actually wants to do the same as all cryptocurrency brokers that are currently active, Coinmerce does have a number of unique features. The introduction of a mobile app is a very useful addition to the trading process and makes it even easier to enter the world of crypto. This way you no longer have to log in with your computer, but you can easily trade with your smartphone.
We asked a question ourselves on a Saturday with the built-in chat function and we got an answer almost immediately. In case of new features we will update our Coinmerce review.

All Coinmerce.io reviews:
Coinmerce have prevented me from accessing my account and are pressurising me to make a purchase of Crypto on EXODUS. I do not understand what is going on and am very concerned about why – I, as a customer should have such a request put to me? It doesn’t make sense so I would appreciate any thoughts anyone may have on this within the community.
